Day Three

Today you will join Rosa for a delightful stroll through Naple's historical centre, where you'll have the chance to explore the city's most enchanting streets, palaces, and churches. But this tour isn't just about the sights; it's about immersing yourself in Naple's vibrant popular culture. Discover the unique way of life in this lively community, the outdoor activities that bring people together, and the fascinating blend of religion and superstition that still influences the modern world. As you wander through the city, Rosa will introduce you to the art of hand-made Nativity scenes, a cherished tradition in Naples. You'll also have the opportunity to indulge in the incredible variety of street food that this city is famous for. Savor the flavors of sfogliatella, pizza, frittatina, calzoni, pizza fritta, taralli con il pepe, crocchè di patate, and arancini.

After the tour, we highly recommend heading to the Gran Caffe Gambrinus, a must-visit destination in Naples. This iconic establishment has welcomed renowned figures such as Oscar Wilde, Gabriele D’Annunzio, Ernest Hemingway, and Jean-Paul Sartre. Located in the heart of the city, you'll be surrounded by the magnificent Piazza Plebiscito, the San Carlo Opera House, and the Galleria Umberto. At the Gran Caffe Gambrinus, you'll have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of sweet tastings. Start with the traditional Neapolitan espresso, brewed according to an age-old recipe that results in a dark, dense, and piping hot cup of coffee. For those seeking a modern twist, there are creamy, chocolatey, and hazelnut variations available.. Then finish it all off with the perfect espresso.

PS If you want to buy some chocolate to take home check out Gay Odin founded in the late 1800s by Isidoro Odin. Try the Foreste – chunks of milk chocolate sculpted to look like wood logs; Vesuvio, chocolate sweets shaped to look like the volcano; chocolate liqueur; chocolate spreads (and it is not nutella); chocolate wafers….

In the evening, we would be delighted to recommend a selection of restaurants that cater to various tastes, ranging from Michelin-starred establishments to more casual dining options.
